Cookie Policy

This policy explains how Hail (operated by Hail HQ) uses cookies and similar technologies on hail.so, including the marketing site and the console.

What we use

Hail uses PostHog for product analytics on the marketing site and the console. PostHog helps us understand how visitors and Developers use Hail so we can improve the product.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share data with third parties for their own advertising purposes.

Analytics cookies are on by default

PostHog analytics run by default on your first visit — we do not wait for you to opt in first. A banner tells you this and lets you opt out at any time; once you decline, PostHog stops collecting data from your session.

What's collected

By default, PostHog collects:

  • Usage/behavioral data — pages viewed, features used, clicks, and similar interaction data.
  • IP address — used to derive approximate location and to help secure the service; PostHog is configured to process this in the EU.
  • Account identity (signed-in users) — when you sign in to the console, analytics from that browser are linked to your account (user ID, email, and name) so we can understand product usage per Developer. Signing out unlinks the browser from your account.

We retain analytics data for 12 months, after which it is deleted in the ordinary course.

Your choices

You can opt out of analytics cookies via the cookie banner at any time. Your choice is stored locally in your browser so you aren't tracked again on future visits, unless you clear your browser storage or use a different browser/device.
